Cancer Companions Development Committee Member Role
Cancer Companions, the Premiere National Christian Cancer Ministry is staged to EXPAND in the next 3 years as we collaborate with over 100 national cancer & healthcare organizations. The development potential from these relationships is tremendous
CC Development Committee members do not fundraise.
They are volunteer experts who oversee establishing, implementing and evaluating the yearly development plan. They redesign plan elements to be more effective, remove ineffective elements and create new ones. Each October they make recommendations to the Treasurer of the Board of Director of their development-based income predictions for the upcoming year’s budget. At this time the development committee’s focus is on donors. Grants, sponsorships and other income streams are handled by staff.
Responsibilities:
Attend the 8 virtual development committee meetings each year.
Participate in training and equipping the Board of Directors and Executive Director to establish relationships with past and potential donors.
Cancer Companions is a 501c3 nonprofit ministry which creates Bible Studies, Devotionals, Prayers, etc. specifically for cancer patients/survivors/caregivers. We also train volunteers in 2 ways:
1. Facilitators for virtual and in person Bible Studies.
2. Cancer Prayer Partners who call participants once a week to pray, discuss a devotional and lift them up.
Currently we have over 400 volunteers on 63 church-based volunteer teams in 24 states.
