Prayer for Cancer Depression

Lord God,

We thank you that you merged your suffering with ours. That for some reason in your wisdom you don't just make suffering go away, but you have chosen to inhabit it with us, to share in it with us.

And so that no matter how miserable or despairing we might be, we know that you are our companion and that you will bring us through if not in this life - all the way into the next. Where all of those sufferings will ultimately be gone. We pray in your name.

AMEN

He has made my skin and flesh grow old.
He has broken my bones.
He has besieged and surrounded me
with anguish and distress. Lamentations 3:4-5

He has made me chew on gravel.
He has rolled me in the dust.
Peace has been stripped away,
and I have forgotten what prosperity is.
I cry out, “My splendor is gone!
Everything I had hoped for from the LORD is lost!” Lamentations 3:16-18

The faithful love of the LORD never ends!
His mercies never cease.
Great is his faithfulness;
his mercies begin afresh each morning.
I say to myself, “The LORD is my inheritance; Lamentations 3:22-24
