I guess I’m like most women. I love getting flowers. It’s kind of silly, really. It’s not like flowers are good for anything. Yet, my grandmother told me that flowers are the most gracious of gifts because they don’t do anything except make you happy.

Dear Lord, Be with me as I face my first cancer treatment. Give my oncologist your discernment not his to pick the kind of chemo that will take this cancer from my body once and forever more.

Lord, You know what is needed here. You know where each and every cancer cell is in my body and you know how to remove them.

You are not to be anxious about anything. Why? Because God is with you through everything! So ask God for anything, but do it while thanking Him for your blessings.

We don’t like thinking about cancer because it can be a downer. And, do you know how sometimes one negative thought can grow, and the next thing you know your thoughts are spiraling down to “Negative Land”? Sometimes even talking to God about your cancer can seem too much.

To battle dark lies, we need a good weapon-the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:17) This means that to battle the lies we must think, speak and believe Scripture. We all need some Scriptures for when the lies get into our heads.
